Sainte-Maxime is a city that is lively all year round. It is located in the northern part of the Saint-Tropez bay, with wind protection behind the Moors mountains.

The town was founded by the Lérin monks who built a monastery which was then named after their saint: Maxime. At the beginning of the 20th Century, the area became popular for artists because of its pleasant climate and breathtaking surroundings.
